August 2016. A leak from the DC Leaks website revealed internal documents of George Soros’ Open Society Foundations (OSF) — 2,576 files: strategies, budgets, correspondence. The target was Israel’s image as a democratic country.
Main target — Israel
The documents show that since 2001, OSF has allocated hundreds of millions of dollars to NGOs creating international pressure on Israel. Human Rights Watch (HRW) alone received over $100 million.
Financial influence infrastructure
Adalah — $2,688,561
I’lam — $1,083,000
Breaking the Silence, Yesh Din, Mossawa, Al-Haq, New Israel Fund, and dozens of others
Hundreds of human rights and media organizations used these funds to promote the narrative of “Israeli apartheid,” lobby for boycotts, sanctions, and weaken Israel’s alliances with the U.S. and EU.
PR without PR: covert tactics
OSF explicitly recommended partners act “low-profile” — without drawing attention. Instead, they worked through diplomatic channels, the UN, courts, and influential media.
Soros and BDS: who funds the boycott?
Support for the BDS movement (boycott, divestment, sanctions) came through:
Breaking the Silence — collecting testimonies against the Israeli Defense Forces
Al-Haq — an organization linked to the terrorist PFLP
Voices Against War, Refuser Solidarity Network, Btselem — activists promoting protests and anti-Israel narratives
These groups today organize daily demonstrations inside Israel with propaganda posters of Palestinian children with muscular dystrophy. The founder of this movement in an Arab city in Israel publicly chants: “We will destroy the fascist regime in Israel together and liberate Palestine” (2018).
They are part of a larger organization, ALLMEP, led regionally by Palestinian Huda Abu Arqoub, who has stated that “Hamas are not terrorists.” Many of these groups receive funding from OSF and operate under the guise of “human rights” and “anti-war” agendas.
Soros’ allies — who are they?
Human Rights Watch, after receiving funding, actively promoted the concept of “Israeli apartheid.” In 2001, OSF funded trips for numerous human rights organizations to participate in the highly controversial Durban conference.
Amnesty International attended conferences accusing Israel of “colonialism” and “racism,” repeatedly before and after 7/10 incidents.
Other notable partners include:
CAIR and Hamas: undisclosed connections
CAIR — recipient of over $360,000 from OSF — was mentioned in the Holy Land Foundation case, the largest U.S. terrorism financing trial. One of the directors of Holy Land is a cousin of Khaled Mashal, Hamas leader.
Other related organizations:
ISNA (Islamic Society of North America): Between 2016–2020, OSF allocated $500,000 to ISNA for projects on Muslim rights and anti-Muslim prejudice. ISNA has also been linked to groups accused of supporting terrorist organizations like Hezbollah and Hamas.
Jamaat-e-Islami and ICNA (Islamic Circle of North America): ICNA, founded in 1968 as a branch of Pakistan’s Jamaat-e-Islami, received OSF-supported projects. Some later evolved into groups like Justice For All, alleged to act as fronts for the Muslim Brotherhood ideology.
Al-Haq and Al-Mezan: In Palestinian territories, OSF funded organizations such as Al-Haq and Al-Mezan, alleged to have links to the PFLP, a recognized terrorist organization.
Soros: “America and Israel must open the door to Hamas”
In a 2007 article, Soros openly wrote: “America and Israel must open the door to Hamas” (Financial Times, 2007). At the time, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert offered the Palestinian Authority wide concessions, but Soros criticized Israel for “unwillingness to engage with Hamas.”
Why this investigation matters
OSF is not just a charitable foundation. It is a global influence mechanism shaping agendas through human rights, media, and political structures. Under the slogan of “freedom and equality,” tens of millions are directed at weakening U.S. allies and supporting forces destabilizing Western democracies and the Middle East.
Ultimately, globalist Soros, inspired by Popper and his “open society,” positioned himself in service of neo-Marxists and individuals identifying as democrats.
In short, when encountering leftist or “human rights” activists in Israel (and elsewhere), it is often misleading to assume they act purely out of justice; frequently, their motivations are far more self-serving.
